So I found a 81 Hatch for 400, just the body nothing else.
I was wondering what kind of engine I should swap in there.
I was thinking about just finding a engine out of a stock civic in a junkyard.
But which kinda Civic should I be looking for??
Will just any Honda engine work, F22?B16?B18?
I need this to be weeell under a grand.
So any help is appreciated.

 

d16a1 out of a 86-89 integra or a d15a3 will probably fit you can pull from a yard for 250-500 for the full swap. but i would recomend pulling the engine apart befor install to avoid future problems and remember your gonna need the fuel system(including gas tank) for the carb to FI
