Default Tricking Out an '86 Civic

Hey All,
Just bought an '86 hatch back for dirt and have decided to make it out perform the new supercharged Mini in every way. Problem is, it seems as a newbie to Hondas that all the good stuff is for later years. I'm in LA, and I need leads to who can actually do the swap, which is the best motor to use to get at or about 180 hp, and where to get suspension and big brakes. I'm open to all suggestions except get rid of the car...

Thanx in Advance...

Everything will depend on your specific goals and your specific budget. I can tell you right now that once you decide what specific parts you want, www.hondamarketplace will be your friend. You'll probably want a B18c3 engine out of an Acura Integra GSR.

guys before you give advise keep in mind he has a 2nd gen civic, they have a totally different setup and also more than likely his civic is carbuated, dude the best advise i can give you is to (i know u dont want to here it) but get rid of it, its to old unless you got money like that. i strongly suggest getting a 88 and up civic. they come fuel injected and also there are so many options to swap in.

also your suspension is totally different also. good luck finding aftermarket parts.

Exclamation Tricking out an '86 Civic

Thanx 4 the input, guys. My car is injected, and really doesn't handle bad as it is. I think it may already have some suspension work: it feels like a go kart in turns. As for the motor, I understand that I am relegated to the cable clutch, and wanted to know if the b16a was my only road. I come from the nissan (CAN I SAY THAT ON HERE) camp, and I have learned You Can Trick Out Anything If You Got The Dough... As forgetting rid of it, NEVER. Did I mention I GOT IT FOR DIRT? Also, I ran across a white MONSTER streetable white '86 out of Vegas online doin' 10 second runs. I know he spent mad loot, but still, I'm inspired.
