ok hey guys im going to be doing a 92-95 si head swap just wondering first of all what is that heads name??
y8 i believe?? also when i go drop that in should i run inot any prob's??? with my 94 hatch lol its a cx
and im also doing a 92-95 ex intake maniold and a gsr throttle body then turboing it
do you think i will run into any problems with the head swap?? just wondering in case i want to get anything before i go into
workn on my car thanx for the advice if any guys

 

the head that came on a 92-95 is a d16z6. a y8 will work, but the distributer (stock y8) might give you some wiring problems because it is obd2. and i don't know if a z6 dizzy will mount on it without modification

the one thing you must do is remove a oil jet? in the block. if you don't remove it you wont have vtec, even after you wire it up.

other than that it is a pretty straight forward swap, just remember to change the waterpump and get a new timing belt

yea belts and pump were replaced when i bought the car and i dont really want to
do a vtec head just because one of my buddies did it and all he is having is so many problems
with it so that kinda makes me not want to do the vtec. also i just got info i should have it all done before may so im
pretty happy with that in the fact that it was a cx lol the logos were torn off so im tryn to find somewhere
where i can get a new cx logo only to put on or w/e cause when people get there *** roasted on i want
them to know it was a "cx" lol
