98 1.6L SOHC NON-VTEC JDM swap help
Please, before someone says search,,, trust me my eyes are now bleeding with the overload. But I need some information as I need to get a replacement motor.
Now I have the US version D16 SOHC 1.6L NON-VTEC engine and I'm trying to find out which JDM engine most showing more HP and torque due to cam timing I believe)
So, I do believe I should be looking for the D16A ZC, but I see other D16's that are also NON-VTEC that seem to foot the bill.
What models of JDM engines should I be looking at?
How can I identify the block I see the D16A stamp anything else if its the ZC how can I tell?
Also any recommendations for a JDM motor? hmotors.com seems to be highly recommended, any others.
This thing is for my son as I am getting his High School Graduation present. Already rebuilt the engine once, the builder screwed me.
But new tranny, brakes, wheels, rims, AC, radiator, fans, condenser, evap, struts......
I'm going to drop the JDM in send the 1 yr old rebuilt block back to the machine shop and let them know what they can do with it.... Cause I just can't sell an engine that obviously has problems (long story engine's been pulled out 3 times myself taking it back to the machine shop...
So if anyone can give me some direction here,,, I'd appreciate it greatly NN aka Rob
To the best of my knowledge this is a D16Y7that is the original engine.
And thanks in advance!!!!!
