Default gsr vs. f20

I had always planned on doing a gsr swap... think is lately i've been looking around and you can get an f20 with 200 hp for a third of the price. Makes me wonder how much work would be needed to swap an F20 into my ek. I don't know what kind of mounts or anything it would need, but a 1000 asking price makes me very interested.

yeah i just don't really know what is involved, I have seen other sites talking about how you shouldn't do the swap, but don't know why.

It's a tight fit. You'll either need:

1) These mounts and axles: http://www.hasport.com/products/mount_kits/ekh1.htm. (I'm not sure what these axles will hold too, but if it's not enough power they can probably get you some beefier ones made for an extra $200-$300.)

or 2) D or B series mounts and axles, and a F2D or F2B adapter kit (mounts D or B series transmissionsto the F or H series). This would require cutting into or beating into (with a hammer) your drivers side strut tower to get it to fit. I think the drivers side motor mount needs a little customizing as well, like an extra adapter to get the motor to line up with the stock mount.

My cousin did a F20 swap, he was without a car for 2 months just mainly because the civic engine bay is not as wide as we would like for the F20 I believe he had to cut and customize some parts and his driver side to get things to fit. Still his engine bay looks wack lol.

But in the end he was happy with it, its a good engine if you feel like sitting around for a few and have a extra car to use.

thanks for asking this question. Ive been looking at f20 for a while. 200 hp 145trq
$2400 for the complete swap, i figured it had to be a tight fit or something
