Looking to swap motor
Hey guys I just traded my 89 hatch for this 99 four door but it has a d15b2 in there. I am looking to swap the motor to a better one but dont know which one to do. Please let me know what you think.

RE: Looking to swap motor
A lot of people like the b18c and b18c5 usdm and jdm acura engines. They are pretty expensive because they're heavily sought after. Online they are around $4000 to $6000 depending on year and if they include the Transmission with LSD.
You can also do a H22 or F20b. These are less expensive because they are less on demand however there is more work involved in swaping in these engines. Do a search for more info.
Then there is the b16 which a lot of people swap in because they are easy to boost, but bytorque comparison to a z6 or d16y8 they don't have that much difference in power.

RE: Looking to swap motor
please don't thread-jack, and please don't bring 5-month old threads back to life.
If you plan on starting to street race, you might want to talk about it a little less; ask anyone on the forum, street racing is stupid, dangerous, and immature.
If you're planning on learning to autocross or anything like that, personally I'd learn on a stock car before modifying the car; that way you actually develop your skills rather than letting the car do the work for you. Personally, I'd just get another d16y8 (the engine in your car) for $300-$500 and swap it right in.
