Default need help

i have a 97 civic ex with a stock d16y8 motor, the thing is I blew my motor(piston through block due to lack of oil), and need some help on a replacement, I found a stock d16y8 motor for $600 dollars, and a d16z6 motor for $300, was wondering if the d16z6 motor will bolt up perfectly and with my stock ecu and trans and etc.., any help would be appreciated, don't wanna spend the 600 dollars unless completely necessary.

I am pretty sure it is a direct replacement, except I think the y8 ecu is obd-2? Other than that I think your would be good to go. $600 sound a little steep to me. You could get a JDM set-up for that much. I just saw a JDM d15 for $500 yesterday.
