Default What to swap?

Ok so my sohc is about to puke and im tryin to figure out what motor to put into my 97 hx. I want a dohc vtec engine but prob will leave it all motor. I know h22's are harder to swap in but thats no worries cause i got a friend who is goin to help and he has swaped a few motors. So ill have around 3k to work with for a complete swap so what is going to get the most power for the money without a turbo. I have read that the h22 is as heavy as a turbo b series, right? I want to keep good cornering so if the h22 is the best bet what springs do i put in the front to help with the added weight? Sorry im a newb at all this but any help would be awsome!

Default RE: What to swap?

h22 will be a great idea. The motor will cost you around 1g to 1500. Plus you have to get the hasport mount kits/axles. gonna cost you about another grand. The swap isn't that hard to do. Just make sure you get the best and right parts. Don't halfass this swap. Your gonna need some badass suspension on your car. The frontend is going to be very heavy, so the better the suspension the better your be. Remember when you go h22 you can't go back to d-b series anymore. Why b/c your gonna have to cut your tranny mount.
