Default Is $400 a decent price for a z6?

I tracked down a motor to start building about 2 hours away. My friend's brother runs a shop and has a z6 that was pulled for a swap in his garage. I see z6s on ebay and websites for $500+. There's no harness or ecu with it, just a longblock. Is this a good deal?

Sounds a little high for just the long block. But then again, when I was looking for a bare block I could not find one anywhere so I ended up paying $180 for one. If I were really in need of a long block Id probly pay $400.

i would give them $250-$300 depending on the condition, the swaps on ebay come with everything and it sounds like your just getting a long block with an intake manifold

Not to bust your bubble but I just bought a z6 for 75 bucks cause my buddy had it and wasn't using it cause he had a guy locally swap a H22 in for him and since I spun a rod bearing in my y8, I got the Z6 off him. It came with the mounts, wire harness, ecu, tranny. Then again I have been coming across alot of good deals in my area. Knocks on wood! haha

400 doesn't sound bad because you pay 500 for the motor on ebay and then you have to pay shipping. If the motors in decent shape I would say jump on it!

the motor is 100% there from the throttle body to the oil pan and all the sensors are intact. I kinda wanna jump on it beucase its the first motor I've found that I dont have to ship to me. I'll see how my money works out over the next few weeks

well i found a nice Z6 localy for 250bucks from intake to exaust manifold... only thing the motor was missing was the alternator, TPS sensor and the distributor. still had the harness tho the alternator conection was cut off BUT turned out to be a great deal.....

i would offer him 200bucks first because it does need the wiring harness which ive noticed runs like 100bucks off ebay typicaly.... and the computers ive seen run from 50-150bucks...

first thing i checked with mine was under the valve cover and the timing belt...
i think i lucked out realy good....
wish ya luck either way!

offering low dollar wont hurt anything try your luck.... if ya want to sound beter give a low offer and just say... man im realy tight on cash... thats all i realy have...... pause for awhile and be like man... ok i know its gonna be REALY tight but i can go 50bucks more but thats pushing it extremly tight.........

just dont seem so eager for it!!!!!
