Ok I've been thinking about what to do to my 1990 dx hatch and I've been getting alot of good ideas from this forum. I was wondering if anyone thinks I would be crazy to totally build my stock d15? I Know that is not a common thing sence it is the smallest motor. But I want to be able to tell people they just got spanked by a d15. LOL That would be great. I'm thinking of pulling the motor and totally rebuilding. Boring out the block polishing and porting the head no VTEC just would add to the bragging rights. And upgrade pistons, valves, rings and adding a turbo. I just want to know what you guys/gal's think. Me I'm all about challenges. If I wanted to wipe everyone I'd just go all out with a type r swap but thats not creative.

 

im sure its been done...but you'll be hard pressed to find parts that can handle that much power for the d15

 

If my Z6 ever goes poo-poo, I'm gettin a JDM D15B. I also like the idea of building a smaller motor. If you bore it out though, it wouldn't be a 15 anymore. High comp, lumpy cam, and fully built D15 spankin some booty. Now that would be sweet.

 

I almost did the same thing on my first base 4G hatch (which was spankin' 70 hp compared to the DX's 92). But then I discovered the DOHC ZC, and realized that it's easier to get those kind of numbers with, but it still embarasses the hell out of Mustang drivers when they catch up to you and you tell them you're running a 1.6...

 

better yet...an I4 1.6

 

How many 1.6 V4's have you heard of?

 

what you've never heard of the V4's man? 2 cylinders on each side ...jk lol I've heard of people building the d15 before...it's not that uncommon
