I've been thinking about buying the AEM Cam gears and I just wanted to know if anyone else had them. I wanted to know what type of HP gains if any you guys got from them. Also I heard that these are only useful if you got a modded head or block or you have aftermarket cams......i don't know how true that is but if anyone has any knowledge on this feel free to share some knowledge Thanks!!

 

street sniper has aem gears....and your not going to get gains from the stock timing...the gear doesnt do anything but alow you to adjust the timing which is where you get the added HP...and im pretty sure if your on a stock head, you wont be able to safley adjust the timing enough to get much more HP anyway.

 

^ right. you dont need these untill you want to adjust timing, but lots of people get them anyway just cause they look nice.

 

^ unless they're in the case, where you cant see them at all [&:]and i dont think you really need to adjust timing unless you have some major modifications, althoguh advancing timing a little bit on a stock engine can get you some gains (i think) but it also can mess up your idle (again, i think)

 

rock it with the timing cover off!!

but yea its for advancing timing...if youre looking for raw hp gains, you probably be better off with other mods
