B16a or B18c?
Hi guys,
iv got a 1998 honda civic vti coupe, stock. i hav been looking at a 1994 honda civic with a jdm b16a engine and was thinking of buying the car swaping the engine, exhaust... etc. wat i was wanting to no is will the parts of the '94 civic fit on my '98 civic. For example will the exhaust be the right size, from the extracters to the muffler?? I was also wondering if i would need 2 buy any other extra parts or will the '94 civic hav the right parts to do the whole conversion.
I have also been looking at a 1996 integra vti-r with a b18c engine. i was thinking of doing the same thing as the '94 civic and buy the car, swap the engines and resell it. Again will i need extra parts to do the conversion ordoes the integra hav the part i will need? for example the engine mounts.
Can anybody give me some feedback, as in wat conversion willbe the better option? i no the b16aswap will be easier but will the b18c give me more prefomance?
Thanx
Gianni

The swap of either shouldnt be to difficult seeing you already would have ecu engine tranny axels shift linkage and even the wiring harness. I would just get the cheaper one they have the same horsepower the b18c just has a little more torque. The only thing im not sure of is the exhaust you should probably get headers high flow cat and after market exhaust for your car that should work to swap them. For the b16a your stock mounts on your car will work for them. Not sure on the b18c
ok. well by reading all the other forums it seems the b16a and the b18c r pretty simular. so ill just go 4 the cheaper option. but wat bout the intgra and the civic?? will the civic with the b18c b quicker than the itegra with the b18c? because i think the civic is lighter but im not 2 sure.

hey, get the integra, hands down. the VTi-R is the equivalent of our Type R. it makes way more power, and has a lot more parts that you can use or sell besides the motor swap. you guys should read a little closer before you give advice like that. and the integra swap will be easier, since it uses the same generation of electronics as your car.
