ive heard some weird things about b20's. someone once told me that they run at 5000 rpms in 5th gear going only 65 mph. i know there made for torque but whats the case with them.. like what do they redline at and what are theyre top speeds. specifically a b20 vtec with a gsr tranny. thats wat im really looking at

 

Although im not 100% sure, do you really beleive they are runnin 5k doin 65? That's just gearing a little high don't you think?

 

i know that exactly what i thought. but im really just checking cause im indecision between two cars. one with a gsr swap and one with a b20 swap. and im really just checking cuz i want to get the b20 more cuz its like all torque but i cant have a car thats redlining in 5th on a normal interstate speed ya know

 

need to make sure the tach is working correctly

 

That is all in the transmision, I can honestly see that with a B16 transmission but with a B18B trans it should be around 3000rpm at around 65-70mph, with a gsr trans it should be around 3500ish rpms at the same speed.

 

soo what would the car top out at then? and what do they redline at?
