ive seen the install done a few times and its not a bad mod in my opinion, but yes id reall recomend a kinetik or optima as well(good batteries)

 

what are the advantages of it? Easier access for wiring your system?

And can't you just extend the power and ground wires that are goign to battery back to the trunk wtih 4 or 6 gauge wire? Like wouldnt the DIY be as simple as that?
