Set of cams and a $4000 to $6000 custom turbo setup. All the good stuff nothing cheap at all. But I have seen K24 blocks with K20 heads sustain 500+ on stock internals.

Explain your logic here.
its easier to get B's, H's, and K's into the 350+ power range than D's...and generally isnt any more expensive.

Not true really. There are a handfull of D's in stock trim running up 300whp. Slap a set of $400 rods, pistons, and a good cooling and fuel system your good to go if it is being tuned by a person that knows what they are doing.

ok maybe those numbers arent accurate...but once you start getting into the track-only kind of powers its easier to build B's and H's....and much easier to build K's if you're willing to fork up the money for the engine in the first place.

Well numbers were the discrepancy here. It is estimated stock D sleeves can take up to 500-550whp. That's really the only limiting factor if you know how to piece together all the necesary components, and have a good tuner. Any more investment than that (sleeves, methanol conversion, etc.), and I'd recommend looking into an other series, B or H, where the gains would be much more significant. I would include K but I'm not very familiar with them. It seems to me their cost to value in a comparison such as this is too low. The same power could be made from a B or H for less. The advantage to B is that the path's already been made. Everything you could think of has already been done to a B. The advantage to a H is I believe more power can be made from them. I'd venture to say the most possible power could be made from them of any FWD Honda engine. It just makes sense to me given basic engine geometry.

If we're talking real best though, take FWD out of the equation. I won't even go there though cuz I doubt this poster will do any of the above anyway.
