Interesting way of organizing your parts. I like the holes in the wooden board.

If the oil pump is stock, now would be a good time to use a feeler gauge to check the clearances.

so im going for a MLS gasket cause from what ive heard they seal better as long as the surfaces are smooth and since i got my head and block resurfeced/decked i should be good.

Thickness wise should i go for the thinnest. He said i had like .005 extra clearence or somthing...i didn't know what he was talking about at all....

and what about copper gasket spray? yay or nay? i want this to fix my problem and i think this is the last straw i have on this engine...if this doesnt fix it im selling it and going for sohc d.

ouch, ouch, and more ouch...I wouldn't let my dad near my engine if I had it torn apart...especially if he had a file or such in his hand. best of luck with the block...and look at the bright side. If you got fairly new-ish rings in there already, ARPs, and now a fresh surface for your head to sit on...you should be good to go for quite a while! (plus options to upgrade with everything pulled apart!)
