Default BONE STOCK d16y7- help!!!

i just recently got a 2000 dx hatch with the original d16y7 and im looking for some suggestions for hp gains. im looking to spend around $1000 on performance upgrades. what should i get? Two options i was considering was boosting the stock y7 or get a d16y8. anyh other suggestions to get more power for cheap?

First off, welcome to the forums!

For $1,000, I'd recommend you find a used y8 (you should be able to find one for $300-$400 on CraigsList), and get an intake, header, high-flow cat, and cat-back exhaust.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a reliable turbo setup for $1,000. The least I'd look to spend on a decent turbo setup would be double that. I'd heavily advise to stay away from cheap ebay turbo setups, and remember that 9 times out of 10, you get what you pay for.

i'm with Reaper that you won't be able to get a complete turbo kit, but i'd say put that $1000 towards as many turbo setup parts as you can, tehn over time save up some more money and piece the rest together (this will also give you time to research your *** off). I have a stock y7 (internally at least) with a turbo set up and i love it.
