i need a camshaft for a ZC dohc engine....

1.would a 88-89 Integra dohc replacement work?

2.do i need to replace both?

3. Are the intake and Exaust Camshafts the same?

88-89 Integra D16a1
Cam Lift: .220(Intake) & .210(Exhaust)
Duration @.50 in degrees: .202(Intake) & .201(Exhaust)
Intake Valve Lift: .352(Intake) & .378(Exhaust)

86-89 Integra JDM-ZC
Cam Lift: .236(Intake) & .210(Exhaust)
Duration @ .50 in degrees: .212(Intake) & .210(Exhaust)
Intake Valve Lift: .376(Intake) & .378(Exhaust)

so exhaust is the same....and the camshafts are different....but...do you guys know how to tell which camshaft is which on the zc? the guy just gave me 2 camshafts wrapped in a towel didn't say anything...

One is cracked on the distributor end.....but i dont know if its the exuast or the intake..or if i have 2 exhaust or 2 intake....

The intake cam has a slot for the distributor (the one on the right here)

Thanks! finally a reply but honda-tech beat you to it

they actually have IN and EXH egraved which i guess i just looked over[8D]

and as for the picture you posted both mine have that slot for the distributor and also for the cylindar position sensor on the exhaust side....

which is the broken one!.....so i need to figure out how to get a new one!

here is a picture of both...the left is my exhaust and the right is the intake.

i guess i could always JB weld it or somthing.....we will see!

That slot drives the distributor, so you only need it on the intake shaft. The broken one you have may be entirely wrong because as you look at mxs' picture you see that the exhaust cam is made different; it never had a slot at all.

no, mine both have slots....i jsut didnt see the engravement that said "in" and "exh"....

those are my camshafts out of my zc...im postitive there has to be a slot there cause thats where my cylindar position sensor fits into...

But thanks for the help!
