Civic/Accord Engine Swap?

RE: Civic/Accord Engine Swap?
since you have the engine, and if you have the civic, it isn't the worst swap possible. my understanding is the it is very similar to the prelude H22 so the mounts should be the same if you bought a prelude mount kit. but the F22 doesn't have a big aftermarket following so internals would be expensive and hard to find.

RE: Civic/Accord Engine Swap?
Ok here is the deal, the H and F series use a cable shifter meaning you have to cut holes in your firewall for the cables. On top of that you will need to get H series/civic mounts and custom axels. The mounts will be around $350 to $400 and the axels around the same price. The way the F and H series sits in a civic is not good also. If you were refering to do a H swap I would say go for it because the power and tq justifies it IMO, but with even the best fwd F series your talking at best B20 power and tq but it gets thrown out of wack because the engine leans foward adding to the front bias of the car.
On top of that there is nil for aftermarket for the F series, so your stuck with a swap that will cost you around $1000 to $1300 even if the engine is free, that weights to much, and as a slim picking as far as mods go.
You can get a JDM D15B swap with a factory LSD transmission, the correct ecu, and have everything be so much easier for around $800 to $850 shipped plus the D series has tons of aftermarket support
