Well I got my 93 civic ex in June last year. Its been a good car for 7 months. No problems. I did regular oil/fluid changes, and took care of it. Now I am running into lots of problems. I just had my clutch go out. Replaced that. Then my power window switches broke, leaving me without functioning windows until I bought the $60 switch from honda. (the drivers side isnt going to be fixed... the switch is $220 from honda!!!! lol. if anyone has one PM me now!). Now I have this wierd clicking sound. It doesnt do it unless I am pressing the gas down hard under about 4k rpm's (maybe higher i just cant hear it). My car is also smoking a little.

So is it the valves for the clicking? Whats the smoke from? I planned on turbo'ing the car this summer but now I dont think the motor is in any shape to do that.

Could be valves. Run a compression test and see if its more than that.

 

It pinging under acceleration, normal for most car.. maybe it your knock sensor need replacement, and smoking is not a good sign..

 

Where is the smoke coming from? What color is the smoke?

 

The smoke is blue so its burning oil. Coming out of the end of the exhaust. Its not that much smoke but its never burned oil before. And droopy, the thing is that it just started to do it. Never did it in the 7 months I have had it.

its your valves, and smoke is coming from o rings, just buy a whole gasket set: headgasket, new o rings, etc. and get your valves adjusted.

My junk did the same thing. I replaced absoubtly all my gaskets w/a gasket set i bought, and adjusted my valves and my car runs better and no more smoke under a load.

B/c smoke is only coming out when you go hard on it right?
