Default D series interchangeable parts

i was thinkin today if all d series parts are interchangeable is this possible and would it make sence to use a D15 or D16 block and a D16 V-tec head with D17 Rods and crank to make extra low end torque and a few extra HP

the d series engine already have a pretty long stroke and are good for more torque than the b series engines. the head swap is possible for a d15 or d16 bolock and a sohc vtec head z6 or y8. the d17 rods if they are longer would require a special piston with a shorter height, and would probably be about the same as getting a jdm d15b vtec (d15 block with d16 rods and lower compresion height pistons for a better rod stroke ratio)

do this, get yourself a complete d16z6 and freshen it up with new rings gaskets etc. get a metal d16y8 headgasket and only use 2 layers of it (it is a lot thinner and will raise compression. get some onmi power flat face d series valves (again to raise compression. and a good cam and get the head resurfaced and a good valve job. run an obd1 p28 and use uberdata to tune it. this way you will have a pretty stock engine with a bit more compression and a good cam to give it a good amount of power. get a good header and a larger throttle body off a b series engine. a cold air intkae

honda overbore pistons aren't too expensive from the dealer, or get a set of aftermarket forged ones if you need too overbore the block or want more compression.

and use arp rod bolts w/ shot peened stock rods (it makes then stronger) and arp head studs.

that would be a decent engine for moving around town and not too expensive at that.
