My question is are all of the EG (92-95) D series transmissions interchangeable? The reason I ask is because my tranny is going out on my 92 CX HB and I picked up an EX tranny for $50 dollars. I am pretty sure it should just bolt right up, but figured I should ask before I start pullin everything apart. Thanks

 

bolts right up.........any 92-00 sohc d series transmission will bolt right up.

Thanks for the confirmation! Just out of curiousity ... isn't the EX's transmission gear ratio better than my current CX's. That is a good thing.... right? I shouldn't have to worry about ECU issues with swapping the tranny's on a manual.

I am thinking about going with an ACT clutch and lightweight fly wheel while I am in there. Is that worth doing? Thanks again for the help.

 

any hydro sohc tranny is better than your cx. and it wouldnt hurt at all to drop a new clutch kit in while your at it. as far as the auto ecu, it can be used or converted to 5spd.

 

the cx tranny is great if you have a lot of horsepower lol or are trying to do top end runs. best is like an si or ex tranny
