The rod berring on the 6th gen blocks are weak, that coupled with the lack of ability to circulate oil as good as the other generation d series makes them a bit fragil compared to others. As far as the r/s ratio the D series r/s ratio is fine the D15's being slightly better than the D16's but in the end it dont much matter because it is still tons better than alot of engines out there as far as balance goes.

Would a larger oil pump help this? (I doubt it.)

The 7th gens have been known to have tranny problems.

lol. its cool. Youll learn the lingo quick. My friends all scratch their heads when I sa "manny tranny" (manual transmission) then they make fun of me.
