Default Distributor Help.

Well I assume it's my distributor because when I idle it's usually almost to 0 (so i guess like 200-500) but when I drive it's normal. The car doesn't die when I shift gears or anything. I don't know anything about cars so any help would be very much appreciated.

It's a 97 Honda Civic Ex Coupe Automatic.

Is the CEL ON?

Based on your information, I'd classify the problem as "low idle".

Start by cleaning the IACV on the throttle body (see IACV link in my signature).

Also, when was your last basic tune up (plugs/wires/cap/rotor)?

No the CEL isn't on.

My last basic tune up was along time ago, so I'll need to do that

Start ^ and then clean the IACV thoroughly if the idle problem persists. Actually, you might first want to check the ignition timing with a timing gun after the basic tune up, which is definitely a DIY job if you want to save money.
