Question do I have a short block or long block?

May sound like a stupid question, but considering what WellFedHobo told me about how much it cost him to have a shop do a swap in his 5th gen, I think I'll take the chances of either getting a new block or perhaps a rebuild kit online.

Was looking on Ebay and saw one guy selling a remanufactured 5th gen (95 to be exact, which is what I have) Civic EX long block for $1,400 plus shipping and core. Okay, then down the page I saw another guy selling a used, but not remanufactured 5th gen Civic EX short block for $500 plus shipping, no core. I don't even know if I have a long block or a short block. I'm assuming the long block is a DOHC and the short is a SOHC (I have SOHC), but I'm not positive and I don't know where else to ask. Btw, my engine is a JDM (Japan-made).

Thanks for any info.

"short block" just means you have just the engine block itself, with the crank, pistons, etc. Bottom end only, basically. "long block" means you have the whole engine, including the head, maybe manifolds.
