[B]So i have A 98 civic hatchback NON V-TEC here is the following
D16Z6 1.6L SOHC VTEC 92-95 Civic EX/Si, 93-95 del Sol Si 125hp
D16Y5 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E 96-00 Civic HX 115hp

D16Y8 1.6L SOHC VTEC 96-00 Civic EX, 96-97 del Sol Si 127hp

I have The D16y7 SOHC non V-TEC and i was thinking if its possiable to just go to a junk yard and rip out a V-tec Block or cover what ever it is ( i have no idea ) and just put in onto my engine -... Would this Work ?

So. d16y7 . Non V-tec is this DOABLE ? to make it v-tec !!!!!

it's called a mini me. non-vtec block with vtec head. you have the vtec while keeping the torque of the non-vtec block. very easy to do. you need the vtec head wiring harness throttle body and ecu.

Vtec is in the head not the block. Here's how to make a non vtec in to a vtec by swapping heads. http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/ho...-write-up.html

Yeah, super easy. Swap heads, swap computers, keep the harness. Just add 2 wires from computer to vtec solenoid. Poor man's engine swap.

duhhhhhhh shane. sorry forgive my artardedness. i've been up for a couple days. (insomnia and mountain dew.)

forget what i said about the wiring harness. correct me if i'm wrong but it's basically the single cam version of ls-vtec?

EDIT: i said the throttle body bc it flows better doesn't it?
