Default Engine capatibility

Hello very new here just bought a 87 civic si 1.5 pfi to turn in to oval track racer.I have been looking around for different items like underdrive pulleys and i see they make them for the 1.5 but the year is 88 up. Wondering if they will still work on the 87 or are there differences that won't allow it. Thank you for your help I know I'll be asking for more .

all D series engine parts are compatible. though...if i were you i wouldnt worry about stuff like pullys...they'll only give you 1..maybe 2hp from stock. start with intake, header, exhaust, and go from there. you may have to custom fab the exhaust...im not quite sure. header should fit from any 88-91 car, and intake you man have to fab too.

Hello with alittle more research I happen to come alone the engine code in front of the engine compartment on the right side and find out it is a d15a3 engine. I guess this still means its a puss yet lol. any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.
