Well, you won't have to worry about that, since there haven't been any USDM DOHC D-series engines since the 1G Integra (and even if there were, they still wouldn't work). You're looking for a D16Y8 SOHC VTEC head.

no the dohc head will not fit on a d-series motor so dont try that but since you have a 1.6l block motor w/o v-tec get a d16a6 head or a d16y8 head and put on the stock motor and then get the ecu of that head and BOOM you got v-tec baby but if you cant find the ecu for the head then your gonna to waire the v-tec to a swtich of some sort for more info check this website 4 the steps http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/z6swap/z6swap.html

ZC or full motor swap is your best bet. The D-series simply doesnt respond well to bolt-ons.

sure it does, as long as its not the new (7th gen) d-series. ive seen street driven all motor hatches with a basic build running mid-14s, no sweat, so they can do just fine, it just takes more work to get the power than a b-series.

I guess I just haven't had good experiance with them. I've worked on a friends 92 hatch and we couldn't get anything out of it with just bolt-ons. I wanted him to put a snail in the car but he didn't have the money and sold it shortly after.

yeah, it takes patience an dsome work, but it can be done. im planning on doing a build on a SOHC as soon as i get a garage to work in. itll be a long-term project, just to see what i can accomplish with one, on a small budget if possible.
