how much smoke?

the oil by the exhaust manifold could be a leaky valve cover gasket

i'd get a replacement valve cover gasket kit
it's really easy to replace.

the smoke is where the spark plugs are. i wonder if leaky spark plug tube seals would cause oil to smoke if it got in the spark plug tube. those seals are included in the valve cover gasket set.

You probably need to replace the seals for the spark plug tubes. Check whether the top of some spark plugs are covered with oil.
