Default Engine options...

Ok, I am new to the Honda world and need some advice... I bought a 1994 Civic LX for dirt cheap intending on giving it to my son when he turns 16. The car has a 5 speed with short throw shifter and the stock engine, I believe it's the d15b7(1.5L Non-VTec???). Anyway, what direct bolt in engine options do I have? Not looking for anything wild just a little more pep! Thanks...

D16Z6 is bolt-on, with the exception of running the vtec wires to the ecu

try to get the transmission with it too. the gearing is a lot better in the Z6s trans. though if it comes down to it, the existing trans will bolt up and work fine.

yea a P28 ecu from a D16Z6. Make sure you get the one that is specific to your transmission. the auto and manual ecus are different.

I believe their is a way to convert an auto ecu to manual... I think you just have to do a bit of soldering. It saves you what, $100? Ill see if I cant find a link.

*edit: that was about the fastest search of my life lol... link
