Default Engine REPLACEMENT

Alright...my engine is gettin up to 127,000, and i know it's still got a little ways to go, but im just looking into the future. When my engine finally gives out, would it be as big of a job as a Mini-Me or Engine Swap to just find another D16y7 and drop it in? And would it be that much MORE work than a direct engine replacement to put in a D16z6?

EDIT: .....put in a D16z6 or a D16y8 (thats a VTEC engine right?)?

yeah that was kind of confusing

technically it's illegal to put in a z6, it's from an older car, won't pass emissions testing

straight replacement would be easy

y8 upgrade would mean you need a new wiring harness and ecu

maybe look into the b series engines for a swap. i am definately happy i went with a b16a2 in my car instead of turboing the d series.

Why's that? The bling-bling factor?

b16a2, thats a DOHC VTEC engine right? And how much harder is that to put in compared to the D16y7 that i have now?

And could someone direct me towards the harness i would need to use to do an engine swap to a b16a2?

How about this deal on a B16a2? Can you usually find them for cheaper?

I do believe that you can get that engine for cheaper. I think around the 2k range? maybe cheaper. do a k20 swap though and make your car fly!
