IMO having your engine OBD2 in an OBD2 car isn't really important. Most places that you will get inspected don't really care and will overlook it. I have plenty of friends who drive EK's or DC2's with OBD1 engines and they go through inspections without hassle. As far as shift linkage... idk... lol. And yes, the B18C1 (GSR) is a great engine, I want one, but they're soooo pricy. BTW, that chart you put up is weird... it says you can do B series swaps without new mounts... that's just plain wrong, or am I just reading the chart wrong?

Maybe they mean without having to fabricate or modify existing pieces. I know for sure a motor mount needs to be added toward the rear of the engine, and I think another for the left hand side. Either way it shouldn't be much of a problem. I'll have to get the downlow on shift linkages. But yeah, 3400 for the fully equipped B18C1. I think theres one for about 150 less that doesn't have the shift linkage... thats why I was asking. I should have close to 1k coming my way from an insurance overcharge, should be good times if I can get a hold of it before it goes into the college fund... lol. I think I'll be able to afford some better suspension with my income tax refund.

I'm in the same boat as you, mang. I got a VP and am really in need of a swap due to a bad oil leak. This 106hp **** is killin me. My plan as of right now is to go with the B18B1 motor. It's got a hydro tranny and has a good comp ratio so boosting later on will be very possible. The only downside is it is not vtec. However, the torque is much better than the B16. For the price I think the si motor is overrated. A B18 swap will be much cheaper in the long run. You said you were thinking about the c1, and if you have the money, that would be your best bet. but for a budget go with the b1
