Default Holley 68mm TB.

A friend of mine gave me a brand new 68mm throttle body from Holley. It's for my 95 D16Z6. I realize that the manifold would need to be ported to match. Is anyone here running one? Pros? Cons? Thanks.

Not using one, but i'm sure it'll be fine since it's a reputable name brand. But yea, IM will have to be port matched as you said.

Though, what I would do in your situation is sell the Holley throttle body and just buy a larger than stock Honda throttle body like a 60mm one, to make some cash. I've heard that 68mm is pretty unnecessary, and that ~60mm is more optimal.

Yeah the 68mm is quite a bit larger. For some reason I was thinking stock was 65ish when I took it. Even if I got a 60mm I'd still have to port the IM as it is only 56ish. I did some more reading on porting the IM. Apparently it's not a good idea to port the stocker that much as it will cause idle issues and possible vacuum leaks. If I want to use the 68mm TB I'd have to get an aftermarket IM too.

stock TB is 56mm (just an FYI) - I think you figured that out already though

If you end up getting an aftermarket IM, i'd go with an edelbrock performer X.

Yeah I read the sticky about the TB sizes. The performer X is nice. Most aftermarket IM's are 62mm so I'd still need to do some port work to take full advantage of the 68mm TB. Thanks for the help.
