I know. It's a strange question. I'll explain myself.

The previous owner of my car apparently replaced the oil dipstick with one that doesn't belong with the engine (D15B7). The one in my engine now is too long. I just need to know exactly how much to snip off. So I'm asking anybody with the same engine and some measuring tape to please give me the exact length of the stock oil dipstick. Also, the measurements for the low and high holes would really help too. Thanks in advance...I hope.

 

10 3/8 from the bottom that goes into the oil pan to the two dots that hold the top and bottom together, right before the seal/ cover.

filler marks are: bottom dot=3/8 inch from the bottom
top dot= 1 1/8 inch from the bottom

 

the dipsticks are small as hell lol
