Hey peeps. Im new and useless to this. Ive put my car inmy garage over winter to sort out the interior and some exterior problems, so i thought why not beef up the engine and sort the whole thing out like i've wanted to do for ages whilst I have the car in pieces (seein as it makes me duck under the door ledge when im driving it- ITS SO SLOW!!)

It's a 1993 1.3 Bali (I know... im sorry), i'd guess about 70BHP atm. i want at least double that to get it like a civic should be!

Open to any suggestions, from new engines to upgrades. I just need more accel and way more top end speed, this bloody thing dies at anything above 70 . Keeps me out of speeding tickets I guess, but depressing when micras are goin past up hills.

If you reckon I should get a bigger engine, what do I need to replace to actually make it work? I can do any of the mechanics I reckon (Im an aersospace engineer student) I just dont have the time to research.. So over to you! help me get another sweet civic back on the roads people!

 

b18c1 or turbo your current motor

 

wow man... that's crazy, i think i would go nuts!! you can probably ride a bike to your destination just as fast lol. personally i'd turbo it if i had it IF they make internals for it. i definatly wouldn't boost that old tiny lil thing w/o forged internals. motor swap is the other option but i think it woul be cool to have a 1.3t just b/c nobody else has it.

 

well there are lots of motors h22a's do nice k20a are nice buti dont think it would fit in your car. i have b16a2 in my car and i love it b18c,b20b, or you can just run some i/h/e on your 1.3... if you wanna go cheap route

 

i/h/e won't do much to his car, at least, not enough for him to be happy i don't think. if you want to just drop a motor in there to get you moving pretty quick, you can get a b18c1 GSR engine SWAP for 3 grand. it's gonna run you about the same amount of money to turbo the car so it's really your preference.

 

theres always a jackson racing supercharger for good low/mid but it will peter out up top

 

do they make them for 1.3's?
