I saw a turbo H22A video that made 816whp and 740 wtq. That should beat em.

well the way i see it is what are you going for? are you wanting to build something that fits what everybody else wants or are you building what you want? i mean heck turbo the sohc and leave it at that. not tons of power but its enough to have fun with right? there are people on here that will tell you to build the sohc and there are people that say go dohc and do something with that. when it comes down to it, its your car. if someone has a problem with what your doing they can kiss it cause they arent driving it everyday. thats my two cents. you should search around and see what the opinions are of some much smarter people than me have to say about building the sohc.... later

Yeah guys...he's going to put a K20 in a 96 civic. That won't be difficult at all...and it will be totally practical.
o_O
GSR block, SiR head, GSR intake cam, ITR exhaust cam, badass aftermarket bottom end, lots of boost, a little help from god.
Seriously...an LS1 camaro can make 12's stock with a good set of tires. I mean...if you tried to build a civic that would keep up with a Z28 with good tires and an air intake...you're car wouldn't be streetable. I'm not saying it can't be done because I've seen modded civics (and by 'modded civics' I mean the only two or three that exist) make modded F-bodies look like they were traffic accellerating, but it's absolutely not practical. You won't be able to drive it on the street, you can make a few dozen passes before the engine blows, and for twenty times what the car costs you get something that's more likely to detonate than a nuke in China.
Hate to rain on your parade, but it's true. The LS1 is without a doubt the engine that takes modifications better than any other.
If I had a civic that ran mid 13's I'd be happy (which is possible with a GSR swap and stock boost...maybe even a GSR and bolt ons).

We are HCF, we talk about four bangers. We arent saints. There's maybe like one maybe two cars on here that could take an LS1. Some cars are faster, deal with it. You really wanna beat one? 86-93 mustang. Supercharger+ lots of other goodies.

thanks for all the responses, and I was wondering if the 96 engine is any good to build? or is it useless to try to get power out of it?
