http://www2.spdweb.net/index.php?opt...ask=view&id=30

The second paragraph of this article says (and im quoting): First off, you should know that just swapping a vtec head onto a non vtec block does NOT give you vtec.

Why do a min-me swap? Maybe im just misreading it or not reading enough, but if u switch the ECU from the y7 to y8 (thats the swap i would do), would you get VTEC then? I know you would need a harness and the ECU itself, but if u were to do this along with the head swap itself, would you get VTEC?

You need both the head and electronics to make vtec work.

thats supposed to imply 'just putting on a vtec head wont give you vtec. you have to wire the electronics too.'
