Hey guys, i own a 97 civic ex. Current mods are cold air intake, headers and a catback (soon to be a headerback when i get my magnaflow cat). Upcoming are intake manifold throttle body, and a mild port and polish job on my head. Anybody got any suggestions for diameter of throttle body assuming i'm gonna stay all-motor? also since i'm buying a throttle body and manifold is it a good idea to get these components and the head port matcbed? Lastly what is a three angle valve job and why would it be advantageous for the setup i have described?

how did your current mods improve perf. and powerband?

ITB's?

And for those that want to go all motor, are you changing pistons for the compression or milling the head? It seems to me that stock internals would go a long way on an all motor setup... not nearly as much stress as n2o or boost.
I'm thinkin bout eventually gettin some SRP's and milling the head down when i go to the machine shop.

Moved the powerband to the right a little and slightly improved throttle response, but dont expect much at all in power gain from i/h/e. Look at those bolt-ons as a little prep work before building the engine.

is their a stroker kit for the d series? if so is it reliable or worth even thinking about. or should
i stick with my internals and displacement. (sorry, i'm new to the import world, so i am more well versed in chevy v8s than anything)

Don't stroke it.

Save your money and boost it.

stroking is a waste on a D. you might as well get a b and stroke that.

D16s have a long enough stroke as is koots.

For pistons, arust, research into some other OEM cast pistons that you can put in place of yours to bump compression. OEM will hold up fine for an all motor build and will save you some money. As for the ITB's, they're cool and all, but expensive. I'd recommend just getting your stock TB bored to 60mm, and everything port matched. The EX (Y8) IM flows pretty well. Stage 2 cam and a tune, and you should be in good shape. If that's not enough for you, THEN I'd look into investing in a set of ITBs. Also, just in case you decide you want an aftermarket IM anyway, don't get the Skunk 2 unit unless you're after power in the mid-range. They don't breathe as well up top. For power up top, go with the Edelbrock Victor X or Venom units.
