months ago I bought what the vin lists as a 1998 Civic EX for $800! This is my first civic. The car runs and drives just fine but as I started to get into doing different things under the hood I noticed the block is stamped with D16Y7 and from all the research I’ve done it should be a Y8. Does this mean someone replaced the engine at some point in time? Also how do I check to see if the head they used is from a Y7 or a Y8?? I snapped a couple pics of the block stamp and of what I believe to be the VTEC solenoid. Ps. Ignore the red all over lol I didn’t do that
