kinda wondering what this is. from what i have seen/heard on youtube a mini me swap is for 91 civics with sohc you take a d16 vtec head and tune it for vtec on a d15b thus making it vtech on a sohc car. is that how it works and what does it mean by the "head" is that just the valve cover and the engine block?

 

the head is the thing holding all the valves, camshafts, spring/retainers, sparkplug and etc that sits on top of the block with the four cyliders and pistons and etc.

a mini me swap is the act of replacing a non-vtec head with a vtec one, since the block is virtually the same between non-vtec and vtec. this modification typically gains around 20 hp and costs anywhere from dirt cheap to like 250. i personally did my mini me swap, d16y8 head onto d16y7 block for free since a buddy was throwing away his blown d16y8 so i just took the head off.
