RE: need expert engine advice on Dc1 head swap*PICS*
so all i need is the vtec head and vtec soleniod + ecu.
the only thing that worried me was i read somewhere that the camtiming is more agressive on the dc1 zcintegra engine then the d16y7 thats why they have more power, 118 vs 106 bhp. i knowthe dc1 zc comes with the d16y8 intake manifold is that why it has 12 bhp moreor are the cams different?

I never knew there were sohc integra engines...
If the specs say that your engine has more horsepower, that only tells you about peak horsepower. Maybe the vtec allows the y8 to have a higher low to mid range power band than your car. That might account for why it feels more powerful. I thought that maybe your car is heavier, but based on what I've found, it seems like yours is lighter (see below).
The curb weight for a DC1 Integra is 1050-1060 kg according to these 2 sites

According to wikipedia, the d16y8 is in the EX trim of the 96-98 civic coupes (and the 96-97 del sol Si...but I figure you would've said it was a del sol). The curb weight is 1,140 kg,
