Default Need Guidance

Hey, I made a post that few people looked at and none replied to. So I thought I would just start a new one and have you guys tell me the best thing to do. I have a 92 civic SI and I'm want to swap out the stock engine for a performance engine. I have read alot of the previous posts and I keep up with the new, seems you guys know your stuff so who better to ask. I either want to go with a B16 or B18 but i'm afraid of not having enough room, and/or it being too much of a pain to get into the car. So what I really want to know is how much of a pain will it be for the b18 and how much more power i could squeeze out of it. And the power I could squeeze out the the B16. Money is not a worry I just want an outlook of how much im gonna have to spend ect. to do this, any help on this would be greatly apprechiated. Thanks

Jordon

fitment should be no problem. if money if no object, then by all means get the b18 imo

the b18 will fit in perfectly fine. you will need new mounts to get it in though, but www.hasport.com has those. since your car is already a vtec, you wouldn't need to do any wiring. so the swap would be really straight forward and maybe easy,.

If it would actually be "easy" then heck, mainly I was just worried about room for a front mount intercooler and such for when I get to that point of modding it up. What would be the best way...or more of words the "dream" setup for it such as turbo, port and polish the whole 9 yards. And how much power could i push with it.

+1^ b18 will fit just fine. You also have the option of an H22 for your car. Something to think about! Good Luck!!!

Hmmm never though about the H22A..I will price it, interesting. Would I need a new comp?

Oh and sam depending on what kind of parts you can get me and what discount I might be dealing with you sometime here soon, maybe some package deal or something.

I priced the H22A from jspecautosports.com and they want $2850 for it. They also have a "swap guide" which you just look up your year and it tells you what you need. It says I will need:

Which the package comes with:

List Of Parts Included

- Intake Manifold
- Complete Head
- Sensors
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Throttle Body
- Alternator
- Starter
- Ignition Wires
- Headers
• OBD1 ECU (Computer)
• 5-Speed FWD Hydraulic Transmission
- With Clutch components assembled to the engine
• Intermediate shaft
• AVID RACING Motor Mount Kit
• YONAKA MOTORSPORTS Drive Shafts(Pair)
• Used Shift Linkage(from 92-96 prelude)

Well instead I have chosen to go with the 1.8L DOHC B18 although its very pricy i'm mainly just worried about keeping my power steering. I think they want something like $3500 for the B18, not such a good deal. I just shot them an e-mail, about before they send it here if they would be willing to have the motor sent out and have the heads Port & Polished and all the cam work done. Possibly save me some money on having to ship it back out from my house. I dout they will but who knows, I will probably just end up calling and asking them. Cause shortly after I get the motor and have the oil pump/timing belt changed I want to turbo it. And then shortly after that go have it Dyno'd. But I don't know yet, its alot of money. I have enough now for the motor and P&P or almost enough for motor and cam work. Or I could just get a small loan or something, either/or.
