Lightbulb New to honda. MPH and RPM.

Hey, just bought my first honda vehicle. Its a 2002 civic 1.7L I4 MPI, automatic. Would like to know its normal for these cars to stay at 2,500 RPM when going at 50-55 MPH? Just find it weird because my previous vehicle (2001 ford escape) at 50-55 MPH the RPM stood at 1,500.. Is this normal? if not what could be wrong? thanks

It's perfectly normal; rpm in a given gear at a given speed is entirely dependent on gear ratios.
