Default Oil coming out of VC breather

So im starting to lose about a quart of oil every two weeks. It appears to all be coming out of the breather on the VC. What could be causing this? Ive got a filter on the breather btw instead of the line running to IM.

Sounds like bad piston rings.

Just wondering... have you checked for oil leaks on the engine itself? i had about the same thing on my 5th gen, and it was my valve cover gasket... and i also just found out im still having a little leak from my oil pan gasket, right by my crank seal... just ideas.

might be your rear main seal. I thought my oil pan gasket was doing the same but i've replaced it twice and still nothing. I think my rear main seal is bad... quite possible that me and you have the same problem.

Excess crankcase pressure sufficient to force oil out of the breather hose hole likely indicates worn piston rings that produce too much blow by gas. Do both wet and dry cylinder compression tests to verify.

The problem could be made worse if the PCV valve and hose are clogged.

^ he hit the nail on the head.

An easy test to find out if the pcv valve is good is to remove it and shake it. If it makes noise, it's good. If not, replace it.
