Default over heating vehicle

i have a 92 civic with stock motor, in the summer time my car tends to over heat. accept for the winter when its cold it drives fine, i'm not sure if its niether my fan thats not working or if its cuz of my thermostat. or could there be some other thing that's making it over heat? should i just replace both fan and thermostat or check for which is not working. by the way, i dont think i've ever heard my fan kick before since i baught the car. niether that or i've just never payed attention to it. help please hate using heater in summer time cuz thats the only thing that helps it not over heat.

from what your saying it sounds like you thermostat is stuck. your best bet to do is let you car sit in your driveway and let it run at idel till it warms up and then you should see if the fan is not working or if it is working then it would be your thermostat.
