is it possible to put a d16y8 intake on a d16y7
#3
Yes, there are plenty of writeups on this. I'm planning on doing the same thing. For the easiest approach, you'll want to use a 96-98 automatic y8 intake manifold. You'll also need the rotor from the y8 throttle body. You'll reuse the y7's throttle body and use a y7 throttle body gasket.
Here's the best writeup for the process:

If you're talking about the intake manifold (which I think you are), then like mentioned above, it's definitely possible. I did this swap over Christmas break. It wasn't too bad. Tightening the bottom bolt of the y8 manifold was the hardest part. The link hobo provided is what I used; it's very good. Also, I recommend this swap, especially if you already did the y8 exhaust conversion and have a catback. I didn't notice too much of a difference by just doing the exhaust conversion and adding a catback. But, when I did the intake manifold swap, I noticed a definite power increase.
If you're talking about putting a y8 intake on a y7 intake manifold. I don't think it would work.
I hope this helps!
