Yeah, red x shift lights are my favorite. What the hell? Why does that happen?

So you dont' have to watch the tach insteaad of the road?? Even inexperienced drivers won't benefit from a shift light if they set it too high. It doesn't tell you the optimal place to shift- you set it where you want it to light and it alerts you to that rpm. Good ones have different rpm setting for each gear.

Some of you are saying that experienced drivers dont need a light and they can just feel when to shift. This isnt always true. The power you start making the harder it is to tell. In my car when I go WOT the damn thing throws you in your seat (at about 3k) and doesnt even think about letting up until I bounce the rev limiter at 7700 when my redline is at 7k. If it wasnt for all those pesky valves I have slowing things down I think I could make solid HP all the way to like 9. ANyway, there is no way I could feel or even hear when to shift, this thing is friggen LOUD!!!

but how many turbos do you see with a 100,000 mile warranty?
Any 05 Evo, even the MR, comes with 100,000 mile warrenty. But good luck redeeming it, especially if you want to mod or race it.

Oh yeah, I forget to mention I dont have a shift light and dont plan on getting one cause my Tach came mounted in the center of my inst cluster. Its the biggest and most obvious easy thing to see.

But my turboXS UTEC engine mngmnt system does have one built in that it can light up some of the stock dash lights or something like that but Ive never tried to use it.

another option for a tach would be to get a BIG one at the bottom of your column that you can kinda read outta the corner of your eye, or get one that has a shift light built in
