Yeah, 400-450 is good for that motor, standard among the cheaper places to buy it. A lot of places jack the shipping to 200-300 though.

yeah imma go pick it up and throw it in the back of my hatch...I was told that I can use the stock tranny that I have now, was that wrong info? And for the ecu, it doesn't come with one, but the guy that is going to install it is gonna get me a chipped p28. That'll work out right? for the pistons, do I need to change them for it to be smog legal? Would I get more hp out of the stock jdm pistons or out of the replacement pistons? thx

The tranny it would normally come with would be better than yours, gearing wise, but yours will bolt up fine for now. As for pistons, you're cheaper options are as follows: keep your stock P08 pistons for light boost, or get these for a N/A build:

They can be utilized for compressions ranging from 10.5:1-12:1 depending on what you have done to the motor.

For any higher compression or for high boost you'll have to have custom pistons made.

Oh, yeah p28 should run it fine until you've done enough mods to be worth tuning it/having it tuned.

:edit: Also, don't let the words "custom pistons" scare you. I hear they're not all that much more than normal forged aftermarket pistons.
