Default stock sleeve potention on boost

im doing my motor swap / turbo build real soon, im planning on maxxing out my rc 550's and shooting for roughly 300whp on a mustang dyno.

block is as follows:
d16y8
eagle rods
wiseco 9:5-1 75.2mm pistons
aluminum block gaurd
aluminum race bearings

head is fully built and ported d16z6, but that doesnt matter...

my question is, will 300whp on that block setup be a safe and reliable number? my tuner scared me and was saying im stupid for not getting it sleeved. what are your 2 cents?

Sleeving for boost is ALWAYS a good thing to do.. you might be pushing it with 300hp, but what does a sohc block cost nowadays.. 200 bucks? or less? I would personally listen to my tuner, but if you dont want to sleeve it.. maybe make it capable to push 300 (turbo wise) but just have your PSI lower..

300whp is a lot man. If this is a daily driver I would stay in the 250 whp range. Not that the block cant handle it, but 300 whp is a BIG step up from 250....and a lot of other things need to be changed out.

You'll be ok, I know quite a few people with over 400 and stock sleeves.

^The sleeves can take it, but if youre going to do a 9K build why not spend another grand or so and get the block sleeved?
