Default Valve adjustment - Level of expertise required

How skilled should an individual be before they attempt a valve adjustment on a 98 Civic DX? I have the Chilton manual, and understand how it goes down, but have very limited experience actually working inside the engine. Should I just take it in and pay someone else to do it?

Well, this would certainly be a good starting point with engine internals. It really is not a difficult procedure, but there are some tricks to it. If you are interested I could certainly give you some pointers.

Sure! That would be great. I have the Chilton manual, and have read a DIY with full colour photos on the net but thats about it.

It's really easy, but why do you need to adjust the valves?
